When the body of 11-year-old Danny Latimer is found on Broadchurch beach, the small Dorset town is rocked forever. DI Alec Hardy (David Tennant) - still haunted by the collapse of a previous murder case he worked on - is put in charge, much to the chagrin of local officer DS Ellie Miller (Olivia Colman). Their investigation sees many townspeople come under suspicion, but the ultimate discovery of the killer’s identity has far-reaching consequences for everyone.

This eight episode drama series was created by Chris Chibnall, co-produced with Kudos Productions for ITV and first aired in the UK on 4 March 2013.

The celebrated ensemble cast also included Jodie Whittaker, Andrew Buchan, Arthur Darvill and David Bradley (who won the BAFTA for best supporting actor for this role).

Broadchurch was ITV's highest rated drama of 2013. It has won many awards including four BAFTA awards, two RTS awards and the prestigious international Peabody Award.

The series has been sold to over 135 territories to date, including the US, Canada, Australia, Africa, Russia, Brazil, France, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and China.
